Blog #5  -  19 May 2013  :  Below     (Recalling Mothers Day)

Blog #5

Sunday,  19 May 2013 ~

Here in New Zealand, Mothers Day is celebrated the second Sunday in May.  Thus, Sunday the 12th was Mothers Day.

I sincerely hope all mothers enjoyed their special day with loved ones and therefore memories to treasure.

In the afternoon my husband, Keith, lifted my mum into a wheelchair and together we wheeled her all around the hospital area of where she is now living, as she had not been out of her bed or room since being transferred from the Hastings Hospital.  We then walked all around the inside and then the outside of the complex showing her where her window is situated.  We then walked to her villa and into every room.  This is possibly the last time she will be there.

Afterwards, Keith then lifted mum into the car and we drove to our daughter's home to see her and her family and to show my mum the progress on the building of Melissa's new home.

From here we travelled to our home to see the autumn colours on the trees, after which we drove through the countryside
to Napier and along the foreshore, stopping off to purchase an icecream
and then to park overlooking the sea to enjoy both the scenery and our icecreams.
It was a beautiful sunny autumn day and one to be remembered.

A couple of days later I celebrated my 63rd birthday!  (Incidentally, I was born on a Mothers Day).  Oh, dear, where have all those years gone?!  And how quickly they have gone!  I wonder how many more I will be given.  Consequently, I thank my Heavenly Father for each day He gives me and ask Him that I can be a blessing to someone that day.

As you read this, may you be blessed and be a blessing to someone today.

That's all for the moment.

Bye for now.     Sherelyn
